Molly and Brayden

So yesterday I went over to Megan's house to watch the kids while she went to work. Molly was so excited about her new Hannah Montana pajamas that Megan bought, so she asked if I would take her picture and send it to her mom and Lindsey (megs sister).

We went downstairs to get Brayden so we could go outside and ride bikes. He was passed out, molly started kissing him to try and wake him. It didn't work but it was worth a shot. So we went outside and she rode Brayden's bike. Just another good day watching Molly and Brayden.

My Grandma Beckstead

So a lot has happened that I need to catch up on. In this picture is my dad and Grandma just a two weeks before he passed away. My grandma was in a nursing home living in Ogden, she had Alzheimer's. My dad wasn't in the best shape to go see her but for some reason he just needed to get out there. My grandma had no idea about my dad passing because our family didn't know how she would cope with it. Just two weeks after my dad passed, my grandma passed away.

I had talked to her a couple nights before and she was so excited that I had called. She started asking about my dad which then I had to cut the conversation short, but I think she knew. I will miss her stories about my dad growing up. She comes from a different background then I was raised which she is Jehovah witness and I was raised as a Mormon. Pretty weird...I know. She taught me how to play the accordion and read music even. She also made the best home made cinnamon rolls. I miss her just as much as my dad. Even though I talked very lightly of her, we were very close and now I am trying to cope with my dad and grandma being gone.

My Dad!

Most of you know my dad, Dennis Beckstead passed away May 24, 2008 after a long battle of Emphysema. It's been almost two months yet it feels like it was just yesterday. I can still picture him in the hospital, on the ventilator trying to open his eyes. I can replay everything that happened from the time I arrived in Utah till he passed away. I felt like I was in a movie, watching my mom turn the machine off as we watched him peacefully go.

Wow it's definitely something that is inevitable. I have days where I just want to cry and be left alone because I miss him so much. He was my everything, my rock, and my best friend. He was the one that would encourage me when I was discouraged especially living in Oregon when all my family is in Utah.

So to end a long and sad story, my dad was the best and I am completely lost without him.

Happy Birthday Brayden
